Father Ted

Father Ted is a sitcom about a group of Irish priests who live on an island off the west cost of Ireland. The show follows the comic adventures of Father Ted Crilly, his curate Father Dougal McGuire and a retired, alcoholic priest Father Jack Hackett as they live their lives together in a small parochial house with their housekeeper Mrs Doyle and the various other characters who come into their lives.

The show was produced in the UK by Red Trick Productions and aired on Channel 4, a UK television channel. It ran for three series starting on 21 April 1995 and finishing on 1 May 1998. Father Ted was written by two Irish writers, Arthur Mathews and Graham Linehan. All of the interior scenes were shot at The London Studios and all of the location footage was shot in Ireland.
